Cleaning Results and Hard Water
Most Bosch complaints in Castle Rock kitchens trace back to our mineral-heavy water rather than a broken part. A chalky white film on glassware is scale, and it responds to filled rinse aid, a monthly citric-acid clean cycle, and not packing the racks so tightly that spray arms cannot reach every surface. Check that the spray arms spin freely by hand and that their small jets are not plugged with seeds or scale. If dishes come out gritty, the filter under the lower rack is usually overdue for a rinse. A cloudy haze that will not wipe away is etching, which is cosmetic and permanent, not a repair.
Drainage and Start-Up
Water sitting in the sump after a cycle is the second most common call. Pull the filter, rinse it, and look for a kink or clog in the drain hose where it loops up to the counter, then confirm the air gap or the disposer knockout plug is clear. Run a short rinse and watch whether it pumps out. For a dishwasher that will not start at all, the door has to be latched firmly, the child lock off, and any delay-start canceled. Bosch panels are touch-sensitive, so a wet fingertip or a stuck button can also block the start command.

Where to Stop
Do not disconnect the drain hose at the disposer while the tub is full, do not open the pump housing, and do not force a stuck door latch. If you see an E-code return after cleaning, or water reaching the floor, shut the supply valve under the sink and book service. Cleaning parts you can reach by hand is as far as safe DIY goes.
