How a Monogram Reports Trouble
Monogram uses the GE F-code family: a single F followed by one digit. It is a shorter vocabulary than some brands use, so each code covers more ground and tells you less on its own. F2 is the one to respect. It means the control measured an over-temperature condition and shut the oven down to protect itself. That is a protective action rather than a nuisance, and it usually follows either a sensor drifting low or a relay that welded closed and kept the element powered.

Self-Clean and the Latch
A good share of Monogram calls that begin with "it worked yesterday" arrive the day after a self-clean cycle. Self-clean drives the cavity far past normal cooking temperatures, and that heat is hard on the latch motor, the sensor, and the thermal fuse behind the panel. If your Monogram went cold right after a clean cycle, the fuse or the latch is the first suspect. Run self-clean rarely, never the day before you need the oven, and stop the cycle if the latch grinds.
Cooktop and Ventilation Checks
On a Monogram gas cooktop, a burner that sparks but will not carry flame usually has a cap sitting proud of its seat or a port blocked by boil-over. Lift the cap when cold, clear the ports with a soft brush, and set it flat. If every burner sparks continuously even with the knobs off, moisture reached the spark module. Monogram hoods move a lot of air, and a burner that lifts or yellows only when the hood runs on high is a makeup air problem rather than a failed part.
Where to Stop
You can clean burner caps, clear ports, and dry a touch panel. You should not test the sensor circuit, replace a thermal fuse, or open the control housing. An F2 code means stop cooking on that oven until it is diagnosed, because whatever caused the over-temperature can re-energize the element.
