What Typically Needs Attention
On the ranges, the common calls are burners that will not light or burn weakly, and ovens that bake unevenly. Ignition faults usually trace to a fouled spark electrode or a burner cap out of position, and uneven baking points to the bake or convection element, a tired convection fan, or a drifted oven sensor. Because Viking uses open burners, spills reach the igniters more easily, so cleaning matters. On the refrigeration side, the pattern matches other built-ins: a warm cabinet from a dirty condenser, an evaporator fan that has failed, or a defrost fault building frost.
Keep the Burners Clean
Viking's open-burner design cooks beautifully but exposes the spark electrodes to every boil-over. Wiping the burner bases and clearing the ports after messy cooking prevents a large share of the ignition calls we run. Let everything cool first, and reseat the caps squarely.
