Cooktop Checks
If a burner clicks but will not light, the culprit is almost always local to that burner. Let the cooktop cool, then lift the cap and grate and clean around the igniter, where boil-overs collect and insulate the spark. Dry everything thoroughly, because moisture alone stops ignition, and set the cap back on square. If every burner clicks continuously even when off, that is a different problem, usually a wet or failing spark module, and it needs service. On induction cooktops, confirm your pan is induction-compatible and centered, since the zone will not heat without proper cookware detection.
Oven Checks
For an oven that heats slowly or unevenly, first preheat it empty and time it, because a crowded oven and cold cookware both slow things down. Make sure the door closes fully and the gasket is intact, since a leaking seal drops the temperature. If baking has always run hot or cold, the calibration routine in your manual can correct a small offset. When the oven will not reach temperature at all, or the display flashes, stop there; that usually means the element, sensor, or control needs testing.
