Reading a Liebherr E-Code
Liebherr keeps its fault display simple. An E followed by a single digit signals a sensor fault, and the digit indicates which sensor circuit the control has lost. On many models E0 is the fresh-food sensor, E1 the freezer sensor, and E2 an evaporator or secondary sensor, though the exact mapping varies by model, so a technician confirms against your unit. In every case the meaning is the same: the control can no longer trust a temperature reading, so it falls back to a safe mode. The fix is almost always the sensor or its wiring, confirmed by a resistance test.
Temperature and Door Alarms
Separate from the E-codes, Liebherr uses alarms. A flashing temperature and a beep is the high-temperature alarm, telling you the interior rose above the set point, often after the door was left open, a big warm load was added, or a defrost issue. A door alarm sounds when the door stays open, or, if it sounds with the door shut, when the gasket is not sealing or the door switch has faulted. Give the cabinet time to recover after a normal event; a returning alarm points at the seal, defrost system, or compressor.

Do Not Confuse an Alarm with a Code
A one-time high-temperature alarm after loading groceries or a long door-open is normal and clears on its own as the cabinet recovers. A sensor E-code, by contrast, will not clear until the sensor is repaired. If an alarm keeps returning with the door properly shut, treat it like a fault and book service.
