How Dacor Reports Faults
Dacor has changed control platforms across its generations, so the exact codes on a current dual-fuel range differ from those on an older wall oven, and both differ again from the refrigeration line. Because of that, we confirm the exact code against your model number at diagnosis rather than reading from a fixed list. What stays consistent is the category a code falls into: temperature sensing, over-temperature protection, the door lock, ignition on gas models, and the control board itself. Knowing the category is usually enough to know what a technician will test first.
The Categories You Will See
A temperature sensor fault means the oven has lost a trustworthy reading and shuts down heat to stay safe; it is usually the sensor or its wiring. An over-temperature lockout means the oven ran hotter than allowed, often a stuck relay. A door-lock fault typically shows up after a self-clean when the latch does not confirm its position. On gas ranges, an ignition-related fault points at the igniter, spark module, or valve. A dark or frozen display points at power or the control board.
| Category | What It Points To | What We Check |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature sensor fault | Open or shorted oven sensor | Sensor, wiring, control |
| Over-temperature lockout | Runaway heat or stuck relay | Relay board, sensor, control |
| Door will not unlock | Self-clean latch fault | Lock motor, switch |
| Display dark or frozen | Power or control board | Supply, control board |
| Gas burner will not ignite | Igniter or spark module | Igniter, module, valve |
Because the codes are model-specific, the single most useful thing you can do is write down the exact code shown and the model number from the frame before you book.
Note the Exact Code and Model
Photograph the code on the display and the model tag inside the door or drawer before you call. With the model confirmed, a technician can bring the right sensor, relay, or lock part on the diagnostic visit instead of a return trip.
